Winning an Unwinnable Case

Monday, September 22nd, 2014

Today my client was awarded permanent residence by an Immigration Judge after more than two years of battling after he was turned down by several other attorneys who believed he could not be helped. Through a combination of creative tactics and strategic thinking, we patiently laid a course that brought us here. We overcame multiple criminal arrests in his background and a government attorney who would not agree to work with us. His wife was in tears as this will pave a path for her and the rest of their family to become legal residents of the United States.

Entertainment Visa in Less than a Month

Only four weeks passed from the time we began collecting evidence and putting together our application to the receipt of USCIS approval of a last-minute U.S. performance tour. The band will be making it to their first show with time to spare!

Marriage Petition Denial Overturned

Thursday, October 1st, 2015

USCIS denied my client’s marriage petition and accused him of lying about his marriage. He came to me and we fought the denial – the Board of Immigration Appeals agreed with me and has forced USCIS to consider his petition again! The battle is not over but now we have the chance to undo the mistakes that were made before I got involved in the case and convince USCIS to approve his petition and grant him permanent residence.

Double Waiver Approved for Young Couple!

Tuesday, December 1st, 2015

A young peruvian man will soon be reunited with his U.S. citizen wife despite a previous deportation and criminal offenses.

The couple came to Hessel Law after trying to get the waivers approved on their own – despite the previous denials, I was able to have both waivers approved within a few months. We had to get creative in looking at how his wife’s religious faith would limit her ability to leave the U.S. or to live without her husband. This, in combination with some medical issues we had to dig deep to evidence, strengthened the waivers and allowed me to see them reunited soon – just in time for the holidays!
